Barbera is a unique red grape variety that is native to Piedmont, Italy. Actually, Barbera grows in many parts of Italy - it's that country's second-most planted red variety after Sangiovese - and it grows in many other wine regions throughout the world as well, including California, Argentina and Mexico.
This famous Tuscan variety has been succesfully cultivated in the Murrumbateman district, and produces a complex wine with a soft, savoury mouthfeel, and subdued earth overtones. This 2003 vintage was handpicked and matured in French and American oak for 24months. A quality wine showing strong varietal characteristics.
